Bypass Mode for Torquesim’s SR22 and SR22TN

Many users have asked about the NFS software support for the Torquesim SR22 and SR22TN aircraft. While we encourage our users to use our NFS avionics software, we want to provide our customers with choices in their sim environment. There are advantages and disadvantages with both solutions and we feel offering the choice of using either system is a great benefit to our customers.

To that end, we implemented a hardware “Bypass Mode” available in our software. To enable this please follow these directions:

  1. Start the NFS software for X-Plane 11
  2. When the software loads, double-click on the PFD or MFD to enable windowed mode.
  3. Under “Options” there is a “Hardware Command Transfer Mode”, please set the radio button to “Bypass Mode”
  4. From here on out, any press of our hardware will be passed directly on to the Torquesim SR22 or SR22TN avionics residing inside X-Plane. The NFS software PFD and MFD will not reflect any hardware inputs.
  5. Once X-Plane is loaded with the Torquesim aircraft, please go to “Plugins” on the top menu of X-Plane, select “NFS G1000 Plugin,” and choose “Popout nobezel PFD and MFD”
  6. This pops out the in-flight sim avionics where the end user can drag to the correct location on our PFD and MFD hardware screens. It is important to note how the PFD and MFD are set up in terms of Windows 10 multiple display locations.
  7. There is a configuration file located in “X-Plane/Aircraft/X-Aviation/SR22 Series/Torquesim SR22TN/plugins/sr_systems/settings/popups”
  8. The mfd_popup_x, mfd_popup_y, pfd_popup_x, pfd_popup_y variables can be set to the correct resolution pixel locations for the PFD and MFD screens respectively. This allows the pop out windows to be placed in the correct locations after finishing step 5. The user will not have to drag the screens into position anymore.

If you’re interested in giving the Torquesim avionics a try, please follow this and let us know what you think!

Thanks,
Austin
